Bridges Group LLP was formed in 1998, when the Selden Insurance Agency and the Farmers State Bank Agency of Winona, KS merged with/acquired the Bridges Agency in Norton, KS. The management of the combined agencies was moved from Winona to Norton at that time. By joining forces, Bridges Group LLP has more access to markets and companies then each agency had individually. In late 1999, Trent Richmond and Dave Lamb purchased ownership interests in Bridges Group LLP, joining the existing owners, including current directors and sharholders R.L. Gaskill and Guy Gaskill. Trent became the new General Manager of the Agency. In July of 2001, a new office in Oberlin, KS was opened. Ken Morris is the manager of this location, and serves the Oberlin and Selden, KS areas. In June of 2002, the main office of Bridges Group in Norton, was moved from it's location in The Bank, to it's current location at 117 N. Kansas Ave., to provide additional room for the growing agency. And today has eight agents and two more support staff members there. Bridges Group LLP became a Sub-Chapter S Corporation in November 2004, and the name changed to Bridges Group, Inc. In 2006, Bridges Group, Inc., together with Jeff and Colleen Hardiek, purchased Great Plains Insurance Inc., in Hill City, KS. Colleen is the Agency Manager and a Director of that corporation. Dave Donovan and Renee Spresser also became shareholders in the Bridges Group, Inc. Corporation in 2006. January 1, 2010 Bridges officially merged with Great Plains Insurance, Inc. and Great Plains is now working under the Bridges Group, Inc. name. Jeff and Colleen Hardiek became stockholders of the Bridges Group, Inc. Corporation. The current Board of Directors of Bridges Group, Inc. are: Trent Richmond, Guy Gaskill, Renee Spresser, Dave Donovan, R.L. Gaskill, Colleen Hardiek and Dave Lamb. Bridges Group, Inc. has grown from an agency of $1,000,000 in premium at it's start in 1998, to over $12,500,000 today.
