-You qualify for guaranteed acceptance into a Medicare Supplemental Plan from any company that provides coverage in your state for 6 months, beginning with the month you turn 65 and enroll in Part B.

-All company's plans are identical. i.e. a Plan F sold by Blue Cross Blue Shield has the same coverage as a plan offered by Mutual of Omaha.

-There may be significant differences in prices.

-You can change plans by going through underwriting at an time. Each company has different underwriting guidelines, but they are general less difficult to pass than a traditional individual health plan.

-You do not have traditional health insurance networks with a Medicare Supplemental Plan. If the health care provider accepts Medicare, they will accept your plan.

-The most important things to look for are a reputable company and a good price.

-You may change your plan each year during the ANNUAL ELECTION PERIOD, October 15 - December 7. New coverage will begin the following January 1.
